We are pleased to announce the launch of our latest competition which requires entrants to go a little ‘old school’. The art of letter writing is, perhaps, a neglected area for a lot of authors and truth be told I can’t remember the last time I wrote an actual letter; I’ve composed many lengthy emails but not proper, personal, written-out-on-paper letters. So this makes our competition a little different from the norm.
We’d like you to write a letter to someone of significance to you, someone who you might love or hate, or who set in motion a chain of events that ultimately affected you – consciously or unwittingly. To make things easier this can be fact or fiction. The main thing is that the letter must be written in the first person to a specific individual (real or imaginary, alive or dead).
The letter should be no longer than 1000 words and the closing date for entries is Friday 5 October 2018; full details of rules can be found on our Competitions page.
The competition is open to all-comers with cash prizes for the top three. The winners will be announced at Knights Court in Newark on 1st November 2018.
