Our 2021 Poetry Competition is Open!

Happy New Year! Time to get poeting because we’ve launched this year’s poetry competition. The theme this time is “Promise” – and after the cruel state of 2020 perhaps the promise of a better year is apt.

On the other hand, we could look at it from the perspective of broken promises (cough… politics… cough). Hope, despair, trust, betrayal, the choice is yours!

Our judge (for a second serving) is the smashing Martin Grey who last year released a book of poetry entitled The Prettyboys of Gangster Town.

Top prize is £50 with £30 for second and £20 for third place. You’re allowed up to 40 lines in your poem and the deadline is midnight on Saturday 3 April 2021. Electronic as well as hard copy entries are welcome. NB: Please see the full entry details on our competitions page and read carefully!
